Leaked Marketing Materials Reveal New Call of Duty: WWII Info
A batch of leaked marketing materials have given us some new insight into what Call of Duty: WWII has to offer players.
Call of Duty: WWII was officially announced yesterday, confirming months of rumors that Call of Duty was finally going back to the World War II era. That’s about all we got out of Sledgehammer Games and Activision. A worldwide reveal next week would be used to unveil many of the game’s features. Well, it looks like players might not have to wait until April 26 to learn more.
Marketing materials obtained by Charlie Intel provide a good look at what players can expect from the game. First off, the campaign appears to be aiming to capture the feeling of older Call of Duty games. Players will experience a tale of camaraderie as they land in Normandy on D-Day and battle across Europe. The campaign will feature lifelike visuals and will have a gritty feeling to it. It sounds like the campaign will mostly take place in Europe, which means that the Pacific theatre is unlikely to make an appearance.
In terms of multiplayer, the materials reiterate that it WWII will be a grounded, fast-paced game with maps based on iconic World War II locations. The materials also promise that there will be new ways to interact and socialize with friends. Co-op will features it own original story separate from the campaign. It is unknown if Nazi Zombies will return.
Finally, the materials mention a private beta for those who pre-order the game, which is something both Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare had. Furthermore, it would appear that the game will launch Friday, November 3, which is a plausible release date. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare also released on the first Friday of November (11/4/2016). It does not look like there will be a remastered Call of Duty game this year.
While a lot of this info looks legit, we do recommend you take all of it with a grain of salt. Activision and Sledgehammer Games will announce more details on April 26 at 10am PDT.
